Accessibility Statement
Accessibility at All the Write Stuff
All the Write Stuff LLC is committed to ensuring that atwritestuff.com is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We are actively working to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
What We're Doing
We have taken the following steps to improve accessibility across our website:
Color & Contrast
Our brand palette has been audited against WCAG 2.1 contrast requirements. Primary text combinations — British Racing Green on Cream (#0F3D2E on #FAF6F0) and Cream on British Racing Green — both achieve a contrast ratio of 11.3:1, well above the AA standard of 4.5:1. Brass Gold is used as a decorative accent only and is not applied as text on light backgrounds.
Images
We provide descriptive alternative text for all meaningful images on this site, including product photos and the site logo. Decorative images are marked as such and are skipped by screen readers.
Headings & Structure
Pages are structured with a single H1 heading and a logical hierarchy of H2 and H3 headings to support screen reader navigation.
Typography
Body text is set in Lora at a minimum 16px. Headings use Playfair Display. Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
Links
We aim to write descriptive link text throughout the site so that each link makes sense when read out of context by a screen reader.
Page Titles
Each page on this site has a unique, descriptive title.
Known Limitations
This site is built on Google Sites, a platform that limits certain customizations. The following known accessibility gaps exist due to platform constraints, not design choice:
Focus indicator styling — The keyboard focus outline uses the platform's default appearance and cannot be customized for greater contrast against our dark green backgrounds.
Non-text contrast for UI components — Some decorative interface borders are not individually customizable and may not meet the 3:1 non-text contrast requirement (WCAG 1.4.11).
We are monitoring these limitations and will address them when we migrate to a more flexible platform.
